What Are Shrink Sleeve Labels?

Discover how full-body shrink sleeves provide 360-degree graphics and contour wrapping.

Full-Body Contour Branding: Shrink Sleeves Explained

For brands looking to capture retail shelf attention, standard flat labels can limit visual space—especially on bottles with complex, curved contours. **Shrink sleeve labels** solve this by wrapping around the entire container in a 360-degree graphics layer.

How Shrink Sleeves Work

Unlike self-adhesive labels that use glue, shrink sleeves are printed on a tube-like plastic film (PVC or PET-G). 1. The printed tube is cut into individual sleeves. 2. The sleeve is slipped over the empty or filled bottle. 3. The bottle passes through a heated shrink tunnel (steam or radiant heat). 4. The heat causes the film to shrink tightly, matching the exact contour of the container.

Primary Advantages

  • **360-Degree Canvas**: Maximum room for branding, graphics, product warnings, and regulatory text.
  • **Reverse Printing**: The inks are printed on the inside of the clear tube, protecting them from scuffing, wet ice buckets, and logistics friction.
  • **Tamper Evidence**: The sleeve can extend over the bottle cap with a perforated neck band, providing visible security.
